Volunteer Opportunity – Environmental Conservation

Pneuma African Foundation is seeking dedicated volunteers to support our Environmental Conservation Programs in Uganda and other African countries.

We are a faith-driven, people-centered international civil society organization committed to addressing poverty, inequality, poor health, and social exclusion through sustainable, community-based solutions.

What We Do

We work to:

• Promote environmental protection and sustainable natural resource management
• Support climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction
• Improve access to clean water, sanitation, and safe housing
• Raise awareness on environmental health and conservation
• Support community-based livelihood and resilience programs

Key Responsibilities

• Support the planning and implementation of environmental conservation projects
• Conduct community awareness and education on environmental protection and climate resilience
• Assist in tree planting, reforestation, and land restoration activities
• Promote proper waste management, sanitation, and pollution control
• Support water, hygiene, and sanitation (WASH) initiatives
• Assist in environmental data collection, monitoring, and reporting
• Work with community leaders and stakeholders to promote sustainable practices
• Support disaster preparedness and environmental risk reduction activities
• Prepare basic reports and documentation
• Uphold humanitarian values and the foundation’s mission and principles

Who Can Apply

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (preferred: Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Climate Studies, Geography, Agriculture, Forestry, Development Studies, or related disciplines)
  OR
• Diploma in any of the above fields with at least 1 years of relevant work experience

Essential Skills

• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work with diverse communities and stakeholders
• Flexible, adaptable, and solution-oriented
• Strong problem-solving and planning skills
• Experience in environmental or community projects is an advantage

Eligibility

• Age: 25 – 65 years
• Strong passion for environmental protection and community development
