The PAF Foundation Staff visited Friends of Heart Junior School in Lukuba Village
PNEUMA AFRICAN FOUNDATION (PAF) Staff conducted a monitoring and support visit to Friends of Heart Junior School in Lukuba, one of the schools established by the Foundation to improve access to education for children in the community.

Friends of Heart Junior School currently provides education from Nursery to Primary Two (P2) and continues to play an important role in laying a strong educational foundation for young learners.
During the visit, the Foundation staff interacted with the children, their parents, teachers, and members of the surrounding community to assess the progress of the school and the well-being of the learners.

The Foundation was encouraged by the commitment of the teachers, the enthusiasm of the children, and the support provided by parents and community members. Discussions focused on the school’s achievements, the challenges it faces, and possible ways of strengthening educational services for the children.

Despite the progress made, the school continues to face several challenges. These include inadequate classroom blocks to accommodate the growing number of learners, latrine stances, a shortage of scholastic materials such as books and learning supplies, and limited access to other essential school aids required to support effective teaching and learning.

Fig1, Fig2 & Fig3 shows the latrine stance used at friends of heart junior school. The school is facing serious challenges related to its sanitation facilities. The available latrines are inadequate to serve the growing number of pupils, resulting in congestion and difficulties in maintaining proper hygiene.
The poor state of the latrine structures poses health and safety risks to the children, teachers, and the entire school community. Inadequate sanitation can contribute to the spread of diseases, affect school attendance, and create an unfavorable learning environment for young learners.
The school administration, parents, and community members expressed concern about the urgent need for additional latrine stances and the renovation of existing facilities. Improving sanitation infrastructure will help promote hygiene, protect the health of pupils, and provide a more dignified environment for education.
We call upon well-wishers, development partners, and members of the community to support efforts aimed at constructing more latrine stances and improving sanitation facilities at Friends of Heart Junior School. Together, we can create a safer and healthier learning environment for every child.
We remains committed to working with partners, well-wishers, and the local community to address these challenges and improve the learning environment for the children.
The Foundation believes that every child deserves access to quality education and will continue its efforts to support the growth and development of Friends of Heart Junior School.
PAF extends its sincere appreciation to the parents, teachers, community leaders, and all stakeholders who continue to support the education and welfare of the children in Lukuba.
“Success is the sum of all small efforts, repeated day in day out.”
