Volunteer Opportunity – Community Development & Infrastructure

Pneuma African Foundation is seeking committed volunteers to support our Community Development and Infrastructure Programs in Uganda and other African countries.
We are a faith-driven, people-centered international civil society organization working to address poverty, inequality, poor health, and social exclusion through sustainable, community-based solutions.
What We Do
We work to:
- Support community development initiatives
- Construct and rehabilitate schools, health centers, and community facilities
- Promote access to safe housing, clean water, and sanitation
- Strengthen disaster resilience and environmental protection
- Improve livelihoods and social inclusion
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and implementation of community development projects
- Assist in the construction and rehabilitation of schools, health centers, water systems, and community facilities
- Work with local leaders and community members to identify priority needs
- Monitor project progress and ensure quality standards are met
- Promote community participation and ownership of development projects
- Support environmental protection and disaster-resilient construction practices
- Assist in training community members on maintenance and sustainability of infrastructure
- Prepare basic project reports and documentation
- Collaborate with technical teams, partners, and local authorities
- Uphold humanitarian principles and the foundation’s mission and values
Who Can Apply
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (preferred: Community Development, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Environmental Studies, Project Management, or related disciplines)
OR - Diploma in any of the above fields with at least 1 years of professional experience
Essential Skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work with diverse communities and stakeholders
- Flexible, adaptable, and solution-oriented
- Strong problem-solving and planning skills
- Experience in infrastructure projects or community-based programs is an advantage
Eligibility
- Age: 25 – 65 years
- Passion for improving living conditions in African communities
