Pneuma African Foundation is seeking dedicated volunteers to join our Disaster Response and Humanitarian Aid Programs in Uganda and other African countries.
We are a faith-driven, people-centered international civil society organization committed to addressing poverty, inequality, poor health, and social exclusion through practical, community-based solutions.
What We Do
We work to:
- Deliver food, shelter, medical care, and essential supplies during emergencies
- Respond to natural disasters, conflicts, and humanitarian crises
- Support displaced persons, refugees, and marginalized communities
- Strengthen disaster preparedness and community resilience
- Promote human rights, safety, and protection during crises
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in emergency relief operations and humanitarian response initiatives
- Support the distribution of food, water, medical supplies, and shelter
- Conduct needs assessments and monitor community conditions during crises
- Collaborate with local authorities, NGOs, and community leaders to coordinate relief efforts
- Assist in setting up temporary shelters and health facilities
- Provide first aid support and basic health education where applicable
- Support disaster preparedness, risk reduction, and community training programs
- Collect data, document activities, and prepare reports on relief operations
- Advocate for the rights and safety of vulnerable populations
- Uphold humanitarian principles and the foundation’s mission
Who Can Apply
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (preferred: Humanitarian Studies, Disaster Management, Public Health, Social Work, Development Studies, International Relations, Nursing, Emergency Medicine, or related disciplines)
OR - Diploma in any of the above fields with at least 1 years of relevant professional experience
Essential Skills
- Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure in challenging environments
- Flexible, adaptable, and solution-oriented
- Experience in disaster response, humanitarian aid, or emergency management is an advantage
- Ability to engage with diverse communities and stakeholders
Eligibility
- Age: 25 – 65 years
- Passion for helping vulnerable communities during crises
