A New Era for Women’s Advocacy: Pneuma African Foundation Launches Dedicated Women’s Department at Historic Namayingo Conference

NAMAYINGO DISTRICT, EASTERN UGANDA – Thursday, 4th September 2025 – In a landmark move set to redefine women’s empowerment across the continent, the Pneuma African Foundation today officially launched its dedicated Women’s Department during the ongoing Women Empowerment Conference in Namayingo District.

This strategic establishment marks a significant evolution in the Foundation’s commitment to gender equality, women’s rights, and holistic development. The new department will serve as a centralized, powerful engine to coordinate, scale, and amplify all women-focused programs under the Pneuma African Foundation banner.

A Strategic Mandate for Global Impact

The core mission of the Pneuma African Foundation Women’s Department is to champion the cause of women at every level of society—from the local church pew to the global policy table. Its mandate is threefold:

  1. Global Advocacy and Partnership: The department will actively lobby and forge strategic partnerships with major international bodies, including UN Women, and other leading global and regional women’s organizations. This will ensure that the voices and unique challenges of African women, particularly those in rural and underserved communities like Namayingo, are heard and integrated into broader gender equality agendas.

  2. National and Community Mobilization: Beyond the global stage, the department will work within nations and local communities to implement transformative programs. These initiatives will focus on economic empowerment through micro-finance and skills training, advocacy against Gender-Based Violence (GBV), health and wellness education, and legal literacy, ensuring tangible change on the ground.

  3. Church and Faith-Based Engagement: Recognizing the profound influence of faith institutions, the department will partner with churches to promote biblical equality, empower women for leadership within ministry contexts, and address critical issues that affect women in congregations, fostering environments where women can thrive spiritually and socially.

Launching from the Grassroots Up

The decision to launch this department at the Women Empowerment Conference in Namayingo District is deeply symbolic. It underscores the Foundation’s philosophy of building from the grassroots up, ensuring that its highest-level strategies are informed by the real-life experiences of women in communities often left behind.

“Today, we are not just launching a department; we are launching a movement,” declared a representative of the newly inaugurated body. “Our presence here in Namayingo signals our commitment. We will take the insights from these villages to the halls of the United Nations, and we will bring the resources and attention from global partners back to these very communities. This department will be a bridge, a voice, and a powerful force for every woman who dreams of a better future for herself, her children, and her community.”

The Path Forward

The launch of the Pneuma African Foundation Women’s Department heralds a new chapter of focused, strategic, and impactful advocacy for women. It represents a promise to move beyond isolated programs to a integrated, sustainable ecosystem of support, empowerment, and advocacy.

The Foundation calls upon international partners, local communities, and all stakeholders to collaborate with this new department to create a more equitable and empowered world for women and girls.
