From Lukuba Junior Academy to Friends of Heart: A Journey of Transformation.

At Pneuma African Foundation, we believe that every child deserves a safe, colorful, and inspiring place to learn. Today, we are overjoyed to share a beautiful story of transformation from the heart of our community outreach.

What was once known as Lukuba Junior Academy in Kalangala District, has officially entered a new chapter. To reflect the love, partnership, and hope poured into its walls, the school has been renamed Friends of Heart.

A Fresh Start: Renovation and Play

When we first visited Lukuba Junior Academy, we saw incredible potential held back by aging infrastructure. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Pneuma African Foundation stepped in to breathe new life into the campus.

The transformation includes:

• Complete Renovation: We’ve repaired and repainted the school structures, turning dull classrooms into bright, welcoming spaces where children can focus and thrive.
• The Gift of Play: No childhood is complete without laughter. We have installed brand-new swinging and play equipment, giving the students a safe space to develop physically and socially during their breaks.

The smiles on the faces of the children as they saw their “new” school for the first time reminded us why we do what we do. Friends of Heart is now more than just a school; it is a sanctuary of joy.

The Journey Continues: More Support is Needed

While we celebrate this milestone, the work is far from over. Transforming a school is the first step, but sustaining a high-quality learning environment requires ongoing commitment.

To ensure Friends of Heart can continue to provide for its students, we still need support for:

• Educational Materials: Books, stationery, and teaching aids for the growing number of pupils.
• Teacher Support: Resources to empower the educators who are shaping these young minds.
• Nutritional Programs: Ensuring every child has a healthy meal during the school day.
